I have an "ASUS Z87 WS" motherboard (dual Intel GigE network).

SL 6.5 installs normally, except that the graphical installer
flashes a message about "this hardware is not supported" (without any additional
details). I ignore this message. It may be related to the message
in the syslog about unsupported HDMI audio (I will not use HDMI audio).

I use the mini-SATA SSD port, and it seems okey.

I also use 8 of the 10 SATA ports to connect 8x4TB disks as part
of a 10GigE test setup. Measured disk read and write data rates
are around 1 Gbyte/sec (8x4TB RAID0 with an XFS filesystem).

I am using the on-CPU Intel video and all 3 video output ports
seem to work (HDMI, DisplayPort and MiniDisplayPort), but I did not try
to connect 3 monitors, yet.

One gotcha with this motherboard - the 4-pin fan headers that look
like PWM-controlled variable speed are not. According to to the mobo
manual (and reports on the net), the PWM control pins are hardwired
to 5VDC and fan control is done by voltage regulation - so normal
non-PWM 3-pin fans have to be used instead of better 4-pin PWM fans.
