Thanks, but no : I'm not recreating the repodata for the OS, as this is a ticket to installation failures as you may remember.
Besides, if there was no information for the groups, I don't think the groups would appear as 'available'.
One thing I did not mention is that the "yum groupinfo -v" command does display a repository for all packages but one that's by the way mandatory: subscription-manager
I can't find this one in the (local ?) repos.
Maybe that's the cause (?)

Hi,
You've probably dropped all the group file metadata by running
"createrepo" on your local mirror.
If that is the case it can be solved by adding "-g <compsXMLfile>" to
the "createrepo" command for the OS base repository.
