I just upgraded my system from 5.5 to 6.4 (64 bit) and have one
outstanding issue still plaguing me. Firefox does not find the java
plugin, which disables many web applications I need. I have seen web
chatter in several sites about this problem, including SL, so it
certainly must be widespread.

I notice that only the 64 bit version of firefox was installed as part
of my 6.4 build, and I see frequent comments in the discussions about
compatibility problems between 64 bit firefox and the Java plugin. If
so, would a switch to the 32 bit firefox help? Or is there hope that an
update to firefox/Java will be available soon that will fix the problem?
Any other suggestions?
