Hi, I just did a new install of SL6.4. Yum update is failing with the following... # yum update Loaded plugins: security sl | 3.7 kB 00:00 sl-security | 3.0 kB 00:00 sl-security/primary_db | 3.3 MB 00:00 http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.4/x86_64/updates/security/repodata/primary.sqlite.bz2: [Errno -1] Metadata file does not match checksum Trying other mirror. sl-security/primary_db | 3.8 MB 00:00 http://ftp1.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6.4/x86_64/updates/security/repodata/primary.sqlite.bz2: [Errno -1] Metadata file does not match checksum etc. I did the usual trick of yum clean metadata / yum clean all and it made no difference. I uncommented the mirrorlist in /etc/yum.repos.d/sl.repo and tried again. It goes through all of them....here are some highlights... The only way to get yum to work is to disable the sl-security repo. I take it there is a problem with primary.sqlite.bz2 for this repo ? If not...how can I fix this problem ? Cheers, Emyr
