Packages for the current OpenAFS prerelease have been posted for testing, thanks to Pat:

ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6rolling/testing/i386/
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/6rolling/testing/x86_64/

These are not meant to be run on production systems, but if you can, please install those on a test system and see whether they work for you, preferably under your typical workload.

Unless any show stopper is found within the next two weeks, this is most likely what will be shipped as the OpenAFS 1.6.3 release, and most likely to be the default OpenAFS in the next SL release. If you don't like surprises, please test it now.

For a list of user visible changes (which includes fixes for bugs affecting SL6 cients) , please consult
http://dl.openafs.org/dl/candidate/1.6.3pre2/RELNOTES-1.6.3pre3

You can update an SL6 system with this command:
 yum --enablerepo=sl-testing update openafs\*

If pre3 works for you, it would be nice to let me know, by PM or reporting to this list. If you feel like it, you may also report success to the [log in to unmask] list.

If it doesn't work for you, please let me know. If you're sure a problem is not related to SL packaging, you could also directly file a bug with [log in to unmask] .

Thanks in advance for your help,
	Stephan
