I was suspecting it to be a firmware issue, but anyway it doesn't work
for me on a clean install of SL 6.2 nor 6.3 - not even on a live system.
And as I wrote, I bought another card with the same chipset either.

One thing that comes to mind is that my notebook that I had that in is
getting pretty old (>5 y) and the processor in it gets the whole
machine frozen sometimes - I think it easily might be some hardware
issue, but not sure at all because I saw other bug reports too. Wonder
why my Atheros works without a glitch for half a year now if so.
