Bob,

There are many people on this list who are more knowledgeable than me, but one place you could look is /etc/exports on the NFS server. From the man page: "Each file system in this table has a list of options and an access control list". The access control list can allow read-write, read-only etc access to an exported file system.

'man 5 exports' will tell you more than I can.

Cheers,
Jon

Subject: SL6.3 NFS permissions problem -

I keep most of my data on an NFS server and find that I can
access files to read but it wont let me save changes! I've been
looking at permissions and changing them to 777 to no avail. Is
there something I need in User/Groups?

Don't know where to look next, any suggestions appreciated,

        Bob
