The epel , rpmforge , rpmforge-extras repos are not install by default 
when installing Scientific Linux.  Someone "enabled" them.  Normally it is 
not a good idea to have "rpmforge-extras" enabled when you are doing 
updates as there can be "conflicts" with the base sl repos.

Either disable "rpmforge-extras" repo by editing the "enabled" line in 
/etc/yum.repos.d/rpmforge.repo for "rpmforge-extras" and changing it to a 
0 which is the default.
