I have to reproduce it first. Pretty sure slocate is not running
as I can not find it on my machine. I have Xfce's "Performance Monitor"
plugins configured for both my hard drives, so I will pay
close attention. A mouse over will give a nice synopsis.
My suspicion is on VLC. Seems that the only VM I do any actual
work in is XP. (W7 is too slow.) Seems when I go into the
non-XP VM's, my mind set is to research something. When I
am in XP, I am doing administrative work, so I fire up VLC.
(How can anyone possible write invoices without Puccini blaring
in the background?)
So, the game is a foot!
Thank you for the suggestions.
