No, I do not understand the legal situation.

I only repeat what is considered to be the common understanding
of the GPL requirements for binary RPM files for Linux distributions.

I am not a lawyer, I am not giving you legal advice and you cannot
use my words to justify your own actions or to make claims
about actions of others.

If you are merely curious about the legal situation, please do your own
research using authoritative sources. Statements by the FSF, RMS, Linus
Torvalds, EFF, SFLC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Software_Foundation)
would be good starting points.

But if you want to make business decisions, you need proper legal advice
and you will not find any here or on any other discussion forum.
