Thanks for the replies.  I found yum repo that had the freetds:

wget 
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.2-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm

rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.2-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm

[root@web1 src]# yum search freetds

rpmforge
