The new method of configuring displays doesnt seem to be an improvement over the venerable system-config-display.

I have several monitors that it doesn't seem to know. Viewsonics in particular and I end up with 800x600 or if it's generous 1024x768 resolutions. When the monitor can do 1920x1200.

What are folks doing to get around this problem besides having a stiff drink?
