Hi Jeff,

You may find this bug I posted on "switchdesk" interesting:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=658247

I posted a work around on the bug:
       use the "session" at the bottom of the greater screen

Worked for me to default to Xfce.
