The first release candidate for Scientific Linux 5.7 has been released.

This release has all the new updated packages from The Upstream Vendors
Update 7, as well as the security and fastbugs up to today.

We have network install images, and DVD images. No CD images are
available at this time.

CHANGES Since Beta 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have created the scientific/57 directory. Everything in it is
currently pointing to the appropriate 5rolling directory. This is so we
can test the various scripts that need to point to 57.

sl-release
  - sources is now pointing to 57 instead of 5rolling

yum-conf
  - The appropriate yum repositories are now pointing to 57 instead of
5rolling

Intel Wireless
   - iwlwifi-XXXX-ucode was replaced with iwlXXXX-firmware to reflect
the naming convention of The Upstream Vendor (TUV). In Beta 2 we had
put in the new packages for x86_64, but forgot to take out the old
packages. The old packages are now gone.

We made sure that all i386 packages that are supposed to be in the
x86_64, were actually *in* the x86_64 area.
