The first beta release for Scientific Linux 5.7 has been released.

This release has all the new updated packages from The Upstream Vendors
Update 7, as well as the security and fastbugs up to yesterday.

We have network install images, and DVD images.  No CD images are 
available at this time.

Installer
  - Anaconda has been updated to the version released with Update 7.  We 
have added the normal Scientific Linux patches to the installer.  We had 
much better success with this than we did on SL 5.6

Alpine
  - Alpine was updated to version 2.02
	alpine-2.02-2.el5

Intel Wireless
  - iwlwifi-6000 was updated to version 9.221.4.1
	iwlwifi-6000-ucode-9.221.4.1-1.el5

jdk
  - Oracles java was updated to version 1.6.0_26
	java-1.6.0-sun-compat-1.6.0.26-3.sl5.jpp
	jdk-1.6.0_26-fcs

R
  - R was updated to version 2.13.1
	R-2.13.1-1.sl5
