Hello,
The scientific-linux-users mailing list has always been a place that
people could go to for technical help. It is supposed to have fairly
low traffic, and it has had that for quite a while.
I know that we have recently had an influx of new SL users, and so it is
expected that the technical questions and answer go up.
But we have also had a very high upswing of *frivolous* emails.
I am talking about more than the recent threads of "threads" and "top
versus bottom" posts. But at the moment, those are the most prominent.

I know that talking about some of these things makes it feel more like a
community, but that is not what this mailling list is for.

This mailling list is for people to bring questions about Scientific
Linux, and hopefully they will get answers.

For the record, there is no official SL policy about top posting, bottom
posting, middle posting, or threads.

I will not kick people off the list without a warning or two, except for
extreme cases such as spamming.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Troy Dawson
