 	Well, I meant aggravation with the asperity of the 
well-intentioned; and I think I learned of it from an older wiser 
colleague. But I admit I began life, back before the Carboniferous, 
as a mathematician, and certainly retain a predilection to 
thoroughness (not uninfluenced by Germanic philology) ...
