With RHEL 6.1 there is a package called "icedtea-web"
This not only have javaws, but it has "IcedTeaPlugin", which I am 
assuming is equal to openjdk's plugin.

So, right now, no there isn't a java plugin in SL6.  But it should be in 
there soon.
