I've updated the kernel to 2.6.18-238.1.1.el5xen and left Xen at
xen-3.0.3-94.el5_4.1. Didn't help, so I just updated to the latest 5x
repository, updated all packages on the physical system and rebooted.
That didn't help, either, and the symptoms are still the same, ie. with
"serial='pty'" it gets stuck when detecting serial ports, and with that
commented out, it freezes after "ide1: BM-DMA...".

I've tried all permutations of "tap:aio" and "file:" for backend and
"hda" and "ioemu:hda" for the frontend in the following disk configuration:

disk = [ 'file:/root/image-pseudo-callisto,hda,w' ]

I should probably mention that I can import the underlying image to
virt-manager running on a completely independent machine with Gentoo
Linux just fine, and it starts without any problem in there.

Suggestions are much appreciated.

With kind regards,
Jan
