rpm -e --nodeps yum-conf
rpm -Uvh 
http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5x/i386/SL/yum-conf-5x-1-9.SL.noarch.rpm

This has been fixed in SL6.0, but we're still trying to figure out a 
better way for SL5.  For now, you have to manually remove the one and 
add the other.
