  not related explicitly to SL, but i'm visiting ottawa (ontario) and
i've arranged to give one of the presentations this coming tuesday to
the OCLUG on how to write and load your first kernel module:

in short, it's for people who are reasonably good with linux in user
space, and want to simply *start* learning kernel programming by
writing, compiling and loading their very first "Hello, world" kernel
module.  so if you're curious and aren't otherwise engaged this coming
tuesday, come down and say hi.
