       Hello,

       what says lspci ?

I had the same problem with several dell optiplex 740 ( see
the thread "problem with kernel 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5" on
20100527) with 'nvidia chipset and nvidia graphic' and 'nvidia
       chipset and ati graphic'.

To solve that I have to :

       1) flash the bios

       2) put 'options snd-hda-intel index=0 enable_msi=0' in
/etc/modprobe.conf ( thanks to Akemi Yagi)

       3) 'yum --enablerepo=sl-contrib install nvidia-x11-drv' for
those with nvidia graphic but do nothing for those with ATI
graphics. I tried to install ati-x11-drv from the sl-contrib
repo but that resulted with two X server running, one of them
       eating 100% cpu.
