Everything in this file needs to be on one line:-

exclude=kernel* openafs* *-kmdl-* kmod-* *firmware* yum-conf* openoffice* ooobasis*


The above was taken from a real system. The file is only honoured by the automatic
yum updates, i.e. if you do a "yum update" at the command line then it will apply
kernel updates, firmware updates, openoffice updates etc.
