Q: What will the Scientific Linux development team be doing on 10
October, 2010?
A: Decommisioning Scientific Linux 3

That's right. The End Of Life for Scientific Linux 3 comes in just 3
months, on October 10, 2010.

There will be no more security errata, enhancements, fastbugs, or bug
fixes for Scientific Linux 3 after this date.

All of the Scientific Linux 3 distributions will be moved into our
obsolete area.

This date cannot be extended. The Upstream Vendor ends support in
October 2010, and we will have to follow their lead.

If you have not already made a plan for moving off Scientific Linux 3,
you need to make one soon.

Thank You
Scientific Linux Development Team
