Hi,

What was the reason not to release the mini_livecd 64bit?

I got AMD+ATI x64 MoBo platform with embedded Radeon 4200 ATI graphics
plus AMD Athlon II X2 245 (Dual-Core).

For several years I have been using Debian x32 and now x64 but I badly
need something more __stable__.

The problem is that ATI driver (compiled) + flash + blackbox/icewm + opera
browser (x64) make the system NOT rock solid (either screen or part of
Opera window flickers from time to time blocking the whole system - what
is a known problem, see the google search - or the sound freezes in 32bit
version as it happens with x32 mplayer/alsaplayer in x32 Debian).

I do not use KDE or GNOME hence the miniCD versions of any opsys suit me
the best. Just like Debian netinstall CD.

A few days ago I have installed SL Mini-LiveCD. To my surprise the process
went without _any_ problems from X settings and without resorting to ATI
driver! The system works but I'd like to check x64 version and decidedly I
do not want to see the GNOME blob on my system.

I got an impression, it is my personal impression, that x64 Debian has
worked a bit faster. It was a little bit more responsive. Whether it has
grounds in reality doesn't matter - my feelings counts. Anyway the
OpenObjectREXX test showed x64 worked faster than x32 (4.2 mln ops for x64
vs 3.8 mln ops for x32). ooRexx in x32 SL gives ~4.0 mln ops. So far so
good! :-)

Best regards
