I am having a boot problem with livedvd64_SL55_2010-05-30.iso as well.
md5sum was fine and it was burned with k3b. Boot fails at/after the
step udev ... Tried a couple of times with the same results. SL
LiveDVD *5.4* boots this machine without a problem.

However, the same 5.5 LiveDVD booted my Sony laptop just fine. So,
this does not look like a media problem. Maybe it does not work for
certain hardware??

I am going to try to collect more info.
