Hello,

I have troubles after upgrading to kernel 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 on all
our Dell Optiplex 740 with Nvidia graphic card.

The system is very slow, mouse is hard to move and there is the ata/1
process which takes around 10% of the CPU.

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
  459 root 10 -5 0 0 0 S 12 0.0 62:32.53 ata/1

They have nvidia-x11-drv - 180.22-1.0.x86_64

I tried to upgrade to nvidia-x11-drv - 195.36.24-1.0
but the server Xorg.0.log says :

(EE) May 26 17:48:01 NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module. Please see the
(EE) May 26 17:48:01 NVIDIA(0): system's kernel log for additional error messages and
(EE) May 26 17:48:01 NVIDIA(0): consult the NVIDIA README for details.

So I have to get back to Kernel 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5

No problem so far on Optiplex 960 with the same Nvidia cards.

Thanks for your help.
