Now, I am attempting to install an extractor for .rar files. When I
downloaded and unpacked the tarball, I tried to execute the file:

./rar

What happened is that I got this error:

./rar: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./rar)

Now, I can never understand how to cope with these GLIBC errors since the
se
files appear to be on my machine. Did anybody else have similar issues wi
th
the .rar extractor, and in general, how to deal with the glibc errors whe
n
they don't seem to make any sense.
