Thanks Jean-Paul, Stephen and Matthias,

All packages are from the SL *5.3* repo :

ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/53/x86_64

In the release there is :
gcc43-4.3.2-7.el5.x86_64.rpm
libgomp-4.3.2-7.el5.x86_64.rpm

In the updates :
gcc44-4.4.0-6.el5.x86_64.rpm
libgomp-4.4.0-6.el5.x86_64.rpm

gcc43 and gcc44 are obviously two different packages and one choose to
install one of them or both but I am not sure both versions of libgomp
can be installed simultaneously, so there is a problem here.

I suppose the right way to do it would be to have different package
names for libgomp and allow to install both versions using different
names or locations for the libraries.

JM
