Hi,

Recently (over the past week) my logwatch daily runs are reporting these errors:

  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1315, in ?

  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1315, in ?

  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1315, in ?

  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1315, in ?

  File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1315, in ?

I don't use, and have never used, up2date on an SL server, so I am unsure why
these errors are coming up.

I've checked cron's and cannot find anywhere where up2date is being kicked off.

Any ideas how I can trouble-shoot this and stop up2date from running?

The up2date logs in /var/log are:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 115128 Nov 10 14:21 up2date
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 137228 Nov 8 03:56 up2date.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21459 Nov 1 04:15 up2date.2
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14007 Oct 25 04:51 up2date.3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9522 Oct 18 04:50 up2date.4

So activity has really only kicked off recently.

Within the up2date log it shows things like:

[Sun Nov 8 05:00:19 2009] up2date availablePackageList from network
[Sun Nov 8 05:00:49 2009] up2date

    raise up2dateErrors.CommunicationError(msg)

Thanks.

Michael.
