       I  don't  know  about  ATI as I use NVIDIA and I  have  to  do
       'nvidia-xconfig'    command   to   get  a   nice   resolution.

       I  gess  there is an equivalent command for ati and  doing  an
       'rpm   -ql   ati-x11-drv'   will  show   you   this   command.
