Hello!
RE. "'Scientific' software packages"
I've been in only KDE until recently, as my install DVDs would fail w/ Gn
ome
(ref. "5.4 Install failing"). Now that I loaded Gnome via KDE's Add/Remo
ve
Software and rebooted, I also found "Edutainment" software under Gnome an
d
loaded it to get many scientific and educational programs. Although, the
se
still don't appear to offer 1/2 the range of software under this category
 as
I saw in earlier SL versions (4.3 and earlier?). Have they done away wit
h
many apps or compatibility to them?
Anybody know the 'history' there?
Al
