Another thing that came up where error messages with respect to a
Promise sata controller I used on my test machine.

After selecting language and keyboard, the system want to detect if
there is a previous version of SL installed. The installer gives the
following message: "/dev/mapper/pdc_bfgbdjjfhh: Device or address does
not exist". I am presented with two options: cancel or retry. When I
go for cancel, the installer moves on and gives almost instantly
another message: "/tmp/mapper/pdc_bfgbdjjfhh: Device or address does
not exist". Again, I chose cancel and then the installer continues
without a problem. Configuration of the partitions does not give me
another message and/or a problem. Installation goes flawless.
