useradd was failing because it was trying to create group "mysql" which
was already present in the LDAP. The solution is to either remove all
such "geenric service" users *and* groups from LDAP (which is what we've
chosen to do) or to add them all the the LDAP. A mixed approach (which
we've been using by an accident) won't work and will lead to troubles.
