... if this is really just about getting tokens for other AFS cells, and 
the cell doesn't allow doing this with "klog": Recent builds of SL's 
openafs-krb5 come with a "k5log" which should get you a token via K5, 
without storing the ticket in your credentials cache.

If you're using older or non-SL AFS packages, the executable from 
openafs-krb5 should still work. To get an SL3 executable, simply rebuild 
the latest openafs.SLx SRPM.
