Hello,

Recently, I updated packages on SL4.5 workstations with the last
erratas. After the upgrade, the X display froze and the X server
refused to start again, arguing that fonts were not available.
I found that the X font server xfs did not start and this was
apparently because its config file /etc/X11/fs/config had been
changed with the update. In /etc/X11/fs I have :

ls /etc/X11/fs
config config.rpmsave

The config.rpmsave apparently being the preceding configuration
and the new config file containing only one directive :

cat /etc/X11/fs/config
# don't listen on tcp by default
no-listen = tcp

After copying back config.rpmsave to config, the problem was solved.

=> Is it normal that the update procedure (post install scripts ?)
did this or is there a bug in the scripts ?

Thanks.

JM
