Having worked on some old Sun/Solaris boxes in the past I've noticed how
lots of Solaris/Sun users expect /usr/local/bin/perl to be the system
perl, warts and all.
So on linux I use /opt/. Some quick tweaks to selinux and its fine.
Perhaps one day I should read the FHS.
