Ok, that sounds reasonable.

Yes. I wonder how dangerous it is (except the risk of having the kernel
image that is still set to be used in the domU's Xen config file deleted
by a periodic update inside dom0). We've chosen this approach over the
pygrub one (where the domU is really self-contained, including a
bootloader) as it is slightly friendlier to the sysadmin. If there's
something we had missed, I'd love to hear about that.
