Dear SL users and developers,

Could you please tell whether SL 5.1 distribution supports the
multi-core Cell Broadband Engine processor.

There is a need to choose and install OS for IBM BladeCenter QS21 which
is based on Cell/B.E. processor. On the IBM web-site (
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/power/cell ,tab downloads) it is
said that IBM BladeCenter QS21 is the only RHEL5.1-supported execution
platform and a modified version of the Fedora 7 Linux kernel is provided
for Cell/B.E. hardware.

I suppose that SL5.1 is RHEL5.1, that is why it is safe install SL5.1 on
this machine.
Could you please verify.
I will appreciate if anyone tells how to determine whether SL5.1
supports Cell/B.E. processor.

Thank you.

Please reply in a shortest time possible.
