Hello,
A bug was found in the yum.cron of the new SL3 yum-conf.
The bug was that if a user had edited their /etc/yum.conf and put an
"excludes=" line in an individual repository (not in the [main] section) then
the excludes in /etc/yum.d/yum.cron.excludes would only be applied to that one
repository, and not the whole yum.conf.
This new yum-conf has a fix for that bug. It also has two other changes:
/etc/cron.daily/yum.conf is marked as %config, and not %config(noreplace).
This is to ensure that the fix get's pushed out.
/etc/yum.conf.flash has been renamed /etc/yum.conf.adobe The repository name
inside is still called adobe. But now that adobe has also put their Reader in
the repository, it seems silly to call it "flash"
If nobody has any complaints, I want to push this out in the errata on Wed 20
Feb. 2008.
To Test SL3
-------
yum -c
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/30rolling/testing/yum.conf
update yum-conf\*
or
yum -c /etc/yum.conf.testing update yum-conf\*
or
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/30rolling/testing/i386/RPMS/yum/yum-conf-309-3.SL.noarch.rpm
Thanks
Troy
p.s. Don't forget that SL 301-308 will be going away this month. I believe we
will set it to Feb 29, just to be able to do something on that one extra day.
