This has been a long outstanding bug that I'd never been able to track down. 
Mainly because of time and priorities.

But now that I know what to change, that should be a simple fix.
It probrubly won't get fixed until SL 4.6, because the rpm that needs to get 
changed rarely has a security problem, but we'll see.
