Yes I remember that myself, and even though the deprecation thing was
happening for a while, I must admit I was one of those who also thought
"what's the point of getting rid of it". When I'm on Windows workstations and
need to do nslookup's, all Windows has is nslookup, no dig (even though the
Windows one isn't fully functional, it still helps when diagnosing problems).

I'm happy to use dig, but must say I spend an equal amount of time in nslookup.
