Take a look at the vendors' websites. Last time I looked at Gigabytes, I 
decided I prefer ASUS. Back then, though, one needed Windows to flash 
the BIOS.

I'm wondering why you'd not use an Opteron or Xeon. Seems to me a 
two-socket board beats too boxes. Not quite as scalable, of course, but 
one can always do the cluster later should it prove really necessary.

ps If you want to start a flame war (joking really), ask the question on 
the RHEL5 list. The answer should be the same, but there will be more 
people able to respond, including folk from intel and AMD. I had a short 
off-list chat with an AMD-type who explained that the Athlon-64 CPUs are 
better for interactive work than Opterons, but if you go to top500.org 
you will find two of the top three (I didn't look further) running Opterons.

Top of the woz is PowerPC, despite Apple's efforts. True, there's a lot 
of them:-)
