    Dear coleagues,

I have several problems with SLC5. Please look:

- xterm
Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Warning: X locale modifiers not supported, using default
Failed to open input method

but terminal will be open

- xfig
Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Warning: X locale modifiers not supported, using default
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-times-medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,*--14-*"
to type FontSet
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-times-medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-medium-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-*-r-*--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*"
to type FontSet
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-times-bold-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-bold-r-normal--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-*-r-*--14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*"
to type FontSet
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
Warning: Input Method Open Failed
Warning: Input Method Open Failed
Warning: Input Method Open Failed

but again, xfig started

- acroread
Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Warning: X locale modifiers not supported, using default
Fatal System Error: Raise at top of Exception Stack
zsh: abort acroread

but I remember time, when acroread-5.0.10-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm worked
properly...

- if I looked on .xsession-errors, I see (as a root):
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/localuser.sh: line 12: 3711 Segmentation
fault xhost +si:localuser:`id
-un`
No profile for user 'root' found
xset: bad font path element (#100), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
   Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
startkde: Starting up...

but

xhost
access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
INET:h8x.iep

/usr/bin/id
uid=0(root) gid=0(root)
groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),6(disk),10(wheel)

id -un gives root

It means xhost and id works properly (I hope) and segmentation fault
goes from

xhost +si:localuser:`id -un`

- kprinter
Qt: Locales not supported on X server

I have last update...

What is wrong?

Thank you for help.

Best regards,
                                   Dusan
