Just to tell you the solution. After some googling, I found in a linux forum 
that one has to set symbolic links in

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11

As root, go into this directory and set the following links:

ln -s /usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB XKeysymDB
ln -s /usr/share/X11/locale/ locale
