The ipw2100 module is part of the SL5 kernel, e.g.
/lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.1.el5/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ipw2100.ko

You need in addition the ipw2100 firmware:
yum install ipw2100-firmware
