Hi,

After I spent the last 3 days "try" to install S.L  4.4 I decide to ask 
if somebody of you have experience
such error.

" There was an error installing samba-common-3.0.10-1.4E.9 This can 
indicate media failure
   Lack of disk space, and/or hardware problems.This is a fatal error 
and your install will be aborted.
    Please verify your media and try your install again"

Now I will explain what I did until now

1) Download the 4 iso image from the scientificlinix site, create a dvd 
image and try to install and
     I got the error as I mention but with different package"

2) I check if the download was done correctly and I discover there was 
an error during the download

3) I download from a different site , at that time I check the 4 image 
and was OK I recreate the dvd
     image, I try again same result with different package name.

4) I try to burn the DVD with several different media and different DVD 
burner, same result with different
     package name

5) I decide to burn 4 CD as it is without create the DVD, but of course 
same result etc. etc.

The HW I use is a Dell PowerEdge 2950 ( 2 CPU 4Gb RAM and 2 disk 73Gb 
SAS mirrored)
In the same hardware has been already install SL 4.0 SL4.3 and SL.5.0 
without any problem

Here the are the result of   fdisk -l  after the error
