rpm --install --replacepkgs

(or --replacefiles if that is what you need)-

I use this frequently.


   --replacefiles
               Install the packages even if  they  replace  files  from 
  other,
               already installed, packages.

        --replacepkgs
               Install  the packages even if some of them are already 
installed
            on this system.
