Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my Scientific Linux 4.1 to 4.4 by following
the instructions on the web

  1. rpm -Uvh ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/44/
i386/misc/RPMS/yum-conf-latest.SL.noarch.rpm
It works fine. I have to move those *.rpmnew into their places.

For the following two steps I get the following
  2. yum update yum 3. yum update

Loading "kernel-module" plugin
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
No Packages marked for Update/Obsoletion

However, if I do a

yum upgrade

it did upgrade about some 20 packages (probably from the 4.1 repos
and from the
scientific Linux ftp site).

I want to mention that I did modify my yum.repos.d configuration
files and maybe something else that I cannot remember to download
from my local mirror instead of the default ftp site.

I would appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction.
Thank you.
