Hi Michael,
I'm not seeing that error in any of the machines I've tested the update on.
The thing that might be a problem is that it might have only partly 
installed it.  I would just check and make sure you only have 1 gtk2 and 
that it's the updated one.

   rpm -q gtk2

Just if you are wondering what scripts get run when you install gtk2

# rpm -q --scripts gtk2

postinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
/sbin/ldconfig
/usr/bin/update-gdk-pixbuf-loaders i386-redhat-linux
/usr/bin/update-gtk-immodules i386-redhat-linux

postuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
/sbin/ldconfig

So, it looks like if either of those two things fail, it's not the end 
of the world.
